Our Garden to Table program is built on four core pillars: Grow, Harvest, Prepare, and Share. The philosophy is simple: the children do everything themselves. It provides real-life, hands-on experiences designed to instill a love for, and a positive attitude toward, fresh, wholesome food.
While learning to grow and cook is vital, the act of sitting down and sharing food around a table is equally powerful. From the outset, these practical experiences are beautifully connected back to the classroom through deliberate curriculum links.
We are incredibly fortunate to have a brand-new garden area bursting with life, including:
A variety of raised garden beds filled with vegetables
Fresh strawberries, herbs, and edible flowers
A newly established small fruit orchard
How it works
The program runs weekly, with every class getting the opportunity to participate in both the kitchen and the garden for the entirety of one term each year.
In addition to their class term, all students take part in our wonderful annual community events:
The Garden to Table Bake Sale
The Garden to Table Seedling Sale
The school's annual Matariki Harvest Festival
